Star Wars, since the first movie was released, has become a worldwide phenomenon. It is a legendary franchise of movies and now of games too. What’s more intriguing about it is that every time something officially related to the movie comes up, whether it is a game or a pair of shoes, it is always so splendid that you have to say a big WOW! They never let down the name of the franchise and the existing testimony to that is the ‘Knights of the Old Republic’ game. Developed by BioWare and published by LucasArts, the game came out on July 15^th, 2003 for Xbox. With the release of this game, another massively popular product has been added to the Star Wars Hall of Fame. Call it luck or excellence of execution; these people really know how to make it up to the mark.

The Plot 

Four thousand years before the rise of the Galactic Empire, the Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Malak, has started war against the Republic. Malak has become so powerful and aggressive that Jedi is now no match to his powers. Most of Jedi’s knights are down and some of them have joined Malak. Of course, you are a part of Jedi’s league but there is no definite character. You can either choose to be a female or a male and you start the game on a ship that is already being attacked by Malak’s forces. Your character will gather information and the several pieces of the puzzle to figure out how to stop Malak. Also, your character will build an army of companions and go against the dark forces of Malak. Basically, your player in this game is substituting Jedi. He or she will learn the skills that Jedi possesses and gradually will turn into someone as powerful as him to beat Malak.

The Gameplay 

The combat system is this game is round-based and your time is divided into separate rounds. You encounter several enemies in each round. Their attacks will differ in each round and every round has a fixed time interval. However, you can figure out how to pause the round at a specific event, if you want to.

The most exciting part of the game is the alignment system which is capable of tracking the character’s actions and speech determining whether the player is on the dark side or the light side. If you play generously and help others on the way, your character will be on the light side. If you play aggressively and selfishly, your player will be on the dark side. You will notice that with your character’s eyes turning yellow and the skin will turn pale. So, that is quite a lot of fun as you have to be careful of what you are doing. Unlike other action games, this one is more realistic and whatever you do will have a direct impact on your character so beware and go slowly!

If you are not fighting then you are probably talking or interacting with other characters in the game. The interaction is based on a dialogue menu system. This means that you get to select the response you want to make to the person you are interacting with. But remember, the dialogue options you get will vary depending on your skill level and the gender of your character.

There is actually quite a lot in the game that is unique to the gaming world. The battle system is a blend of real-time and turn-based battles. During the combat you have options like Force powers, blaster shooting, lightsaber dueling and so on. There is a variety of Dungeons and Dragons 3^rd Edition rules of combat used in the game.

Bottom Line 

The most perfect game for those who like playing story based action games. If you want zombies and military actions then this might not be the right choice for you. But, if you are looking forward to a game that can offer excitement, thrill and most importantly a good gameplay then this one is for you!

When we talk about a game like BioShock, we are basically talking about a legacy. A legacy that has been underproduction for years and when it was released, it created an impact that no other game has created yet. Why? One reason is that the game is simply the best combination of all the features one could possibly think of. And, the other reason is that it has proven to us that the gaming world is not just restricted to zombies and automobiles. Yup, BioShock is the very game that combines action, thrill, adventure, fun along with violence and gore! Let’s just put it this way, it is a combination of Resident Evil and Call of Duty and honestly, the combination is better than the real ones.
Anyways, let’s talk about the game itself! The plot of the game is full of suspense and twists so it’s better not to get into the details. After all, the suspense part is the most thrilling one of the game and if we reveal that here, you won’t be anymore interested in playing the game. The game starts in 1960. Your character is an unknown male on a plane over the Atlantic Ocean. As soon as you start the game, your plane crashes in the ocean and the ‘unknown male’ is in the middle of it. Now what? Don’t worry your won’t die yet. This is where the actual game begins. You are in the center of the Atlantic Ocean waiting for help just when you see a thick tall structure. Now, its time to enter this structure ta da! That’s where the suspense and the mystery begin! The entrance of an unknown huge structure engraved with a weird but artistic designed interior with a big bathysphere at the bottom. As soon as you enter this place you get an introduction of the city of Rapture created by Andrew Ryan (a character in the game). Through a taped voice message, Ryan tells you that he is the one who has built this city for scientists to carry out their experiments and innovations without being disturbed by the outside world. Everything is cool until you find blood, dead bodies, trashed levels and other things in a mess. Your character is stranded and shocked right now and it’s clear to him that something has happened here. The story continues from there on…

What You Will Love About The Game

Initially, you will feel like you are playing a childish game with characters that look more like those from the Adams Family, a TV show, but once you are in the flow, you will feel the thrill throughout. BioShock is in its purest form a first person shooter, but there are parts in the game where you will experience adventure and RPG elements. That is the beauty of this game! It leaves no one disappointed. Whether you want to play a horror game, a sci-fi game, an adventure game or a fantasy game, your thirst will be quenched! Throughout the game you will be in Rapture and you will be fighting mutants that were once humans. The good part is that throughout the game you will experience different types of zombies. There are simple naïve looking zombies, some are armed and dangerous crazy zombies and some of them even have special abilities. However, the main creatures of the game are the Little Sisters and Big Daddies.

The Gameplay

What’s extremely good about BioShock is that the game offers a plethora of weapons which are quite fascinating to use. There is actually a lot more about the game that you need to know. The gameplay has a lot of variety and so does the plot, so my advice – play the game if you want to know what it is all about!

We never thought that a western genre game with all those old school cowboy shooting tricks and those ‘I am gonna shoot you in the head’ dialogues could actually be better than most of the third person shooter video games out there. Come to think of it – what does this game has that makes it such an impeccable, fun-filled, adventurous and thrilling one? The answer can only be one – it’s the western concept of cowboys avenging the death of their loved ones! Or maybe its more than that but what we cannot deny is the fact that Red Dead Revolver is one of those few games that are unique and at the same time offers a hell lot of fun!

What’s the game about?

‘Simple and aggressive’ is the best possible definition of Red Dead Revolver. The plot of the game and the storyline is as simple as any western genre Hollywood movie. Revenge is all what Red seeks on those who killed his family! Red is all aggressive, he has knives, guns and of course self taught gun fighting skills. The good part is that as Red moves ahead with his mission he encounters several plot twists on his way. The secondary characters in the game make it much more enthralling! There is a flashback part in which you play as a boss as well. That for sure spices up the story and at the same time the different levels or stages that come along with their own objectives are exciting as well. Destroying bridges, shooting down dishonest politicians, boarding the racing steam engine from horseback and so much more action is packed in this game. So, for once you can say that the idea of creating a third person shooter game on western theme has been presented well by Rockstar San Diego!

Your player, Red, is a master of gun-fighting. You get to learn skills with the passage of time. That’s actually the fun part – the shooting-while-jumping moves, the horse riding shooting styles and the quick revolver movements that Red shows! All in all, the storyline and the combat modes are up to the mark and any gamer would love playing them, provided he likes the idea of going all western!
To add more to the fun, numerous features are offered, which you have to unlock at various levels. The better you perform the more features you will unlock. And, once you have completed the game you can play it again with better guns and better missions. Best of all – the multiplayer mode is what can literally shake your nerves! If you have ever wanted to go one on one with your friend in a cowboy style battle then this is your chance. Red Dead Revolver is the only game on western theme that offers a multiplayer mode which is quite an excitement in its own.

The Overall Feel

Red Dead Revolver is not the game that is not an all-show no-go game. The graphics are appropriate for the storyline making the game look just what it needs to look like. The blowing dust, the scorching red skies, the horse riding and everything else in the game adds to the thrill and excitement.

The multiplayer mode is good but if you really want to enjoy Red Dead Revolver then the single player story mode is what you should go for. The country music that backs up the game is the kind of stuff you will find in the movies. About the Game…

There is so much to talk about Gears of War 2! First and the foremost, the most intriguing part for every gamer is that this sequel does not entirely change the feel and the plot of the game as we see with most of them. You continue the game six months after where you ended in the first one. The game works on the same lines but the magnitude of the game is larger. It is a rampaging journey on the ground but this time it’s the last stand against the Locust horde. Particularly, the improved arsenal, the emotional storyline of each soldier and the enemies are now attacking you in groups. You can have close battles with them as well or you can stand far away and shoot their head off with long shot sniper rifle! It’s all fun in this game.

The Weaponry:

It’s important to discuss the weaponry of this game because that’s the main attraction! You get snub pistol, a Gorgon pistol, a boltok pistol, your favorite Gnasher shotgun, and a lot more. Fans of GOW 2 are impressed with the weaponry they have offered this time. To be honest, it’s better than the one offered in any other game out there!

The Plot:

Although the game is about the last stand of humanity against the locust horde, while playing you will be concentrating on Dom’s search for his wife. Again, Marcus Fenix is still the main character so don’t be depressed thinking they have changed that part. During the game there are several parts where both the characters are show their emotional outbursts and of course that adds more aggression to the game. In fact, that is the beauty of the game. Not many of them offer such storylines after all. So, in its own way it’s quite unique and an exciting experience to slash those locusts with a heavy heart screaming and abusing them harshly. For sure every gamer will love that part!

The Multi-Player Mode:

If you are stilling wondering how the multiplayer mode of GOW 2 is then only one word can describe it – ‘fantabulous’. Particularly, the Horde Mode is the most exciting one. 30 enemies are thrown towards you in one go and it gets difficult actually so you might need some training there. Another good part about it is that you can actually compete against your friends. Unlike other games, here you are not just going against a cloud of enemies but you can take a headshot of your friend too. That’s fun isn’t it? In total there are 50 waves you need to storm through in the Horde mode. Also, each level has its own scoreboard and you need to cross all fifty in the best of your health and your team’s to think about reaching the top level. Actually even after that you will have a tough time reaching the top. So, forget about that part and concentrate on the fun!

Those who have enjoyed Gears of War 1, this sequel is a locust treat for them! Kill as many as you can – twist their necks, slice their chests, blow their heads off and do whatever you want to because this time you are sure going to get an abundance of them! Enjoy!

For the first time ever, you get to play a Resident Evil game in twin mode. Yes, you can whack those zombies with your buddies now! Previous versions didn’t offer this in the main game, and that did make gamers quite sad but now it’s all cool.

The major gameplay options remain the same, such as aiming and shooting zombies and items. You still have to stand still and shoot, unlike Max Payne where you could actually run, jump and slide while shooting. But that doesn’t really matter because the zombies aren’t that equipped or fast, so you won’t need to run while shooting at them. You can at peace aim at their heads and pull the trigger!

Yes, they have made the inventory system better! You no longer need to pause the game and select items. Capcom has made it more realistic and now you have to choose your items while you are in the game. Besides, it would be really annoying to see your partner pause the game every now and then. Moreover, you can also exchange weapons with each other! The rest of the gameplay remains the same. Of course the plot has changed and it is much better than before! You no longer have to fight diseased zombies because these are actually sensible enough to beat the hell out of you, so beware!

Some basic cheats to get you started… 

While most gamers don’t want to use cheats initially and want to take the actual ride down, some prefer to cheat! In either case, here are some basic cheats that can get you on the mark right from the beginning!

While you are in the start of chapter 2, you can obtain items and immediately quit the game. Restart the game again by continuing from the same chapter and you will have the items that you took before you quit. What’s good about this? The good in this is that you can now select more items while you already have the items you selected previously! Do it again and keep gathering items!

Want to play with Wesker S.T.A.R.S. without buying him? You can do that by the following trick! Once you have Wesker and Jill unlocked, you can play with them in versus mode. Simply go to the versus mode and select your team and press RT after that till you are at Wesker S.T.A.R.S. Now here’s the trick: As soon as you are on Wesker, immediately press LT and RT at the same time and you’ll be able to select him without buying him.

Once you have that, you are all set to roll out the moves, action, and everything else this game has to offer! With awesome graphics and stunning moves, is one of the best action games, and surely the best Ninja game in history now!

The Gameplay

It’s tough and that’s what makes it good! You’d feel like you are in the actual ninja world with speedy enemies around you trying to slash your head off! Each and every enemy of the game is tough to fight, so you need to get the right controls first. On one side, it is a great action game but on the other hand, it also has a lot of adventure involved. In fact, that’s a better definition for the game – Action Adventure game. Ryu keeps on finding new weapons, builds up better fighting skills and much more throughout the game as you keep moving forth.

Once you finish the game, you unlock the Time Trial mode, in which you have to defeat around 250 of skeleton-cum zombies within 6 minutes. It is difficult, but that’s what it’s meant to be! If you do it right, your skills improve and you can beat the boss with much more ease and fun!

When you cross the first Djin, you will notice that the things you upgraded in the previous game are there with another chance of upgrading things. In short, you will get the two additional things that you upgraded in the previous game.
